The 2008 campaign saw tremendous success under coach Koudelka, as the team went 16-3 (6-0 in ODAC action) and won the ODAC championship for the third time in six seasons. The Hornets lost to perennial powerhouse Salisbury in the first game of the season but eventually rattled off 14 consecutive victories. A 12-6 victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Shellenberger Field secured the ODAC title; Lynchburg traveled to Washington College for the NCAA tournament but lost by the slim margin of 9-12.

LC was led by senior Steve Weis, who tallied 41 goals and 17 helpers for a team-high 58 points. Tyler Tolson led the team with 42 goals; Ryan Cranston (36g, 19a) and Michael Mundorf (team-high 23 assists) were large reasons why the Hornets outscored its opponents 314 to 113.
