Lynchburg Women Drop Third Straight Tuesday Night at Bridgewater

 BRIDGEWATER, VA - Bridgewater College sophomore Jordan Burkholder had a team-high 17 points as the Eagles of BC knocked off the Lynchburg College women's basketball team 70-49 Tuesday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action from Nininger Hall.

 The Eagles opened on a 13-0 run, and never trailed as they led by as much as 26 points in second half. Lynchburg struggled from the field, shooting 33 percent on the night, while also committing 27 turnovers.

 Lynchburg (8-15/6-12 ODAC) was led by sophomore Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance), who had a game-high 18 points. Sophomore guard Courtney Brewer (Culpeper, VA/Highland) and Katie Crump (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) each posted seven points, while Danielle Miller (Sterling, VA/Westfield) had six points for LC.

 Jennifer Saunders added 12 points for Bridgewater (13-10/11-7 ODAC), who shot Bridgewater 39 percent for the evening. Jenny Logan had 12 points as well and Bianca Booker added 11 points.

 The Hornets will travel to cross-town rival Randolph College Friday night at 7 p.m. in a pivotal conference contest for LC.
