Two former members of Congress, the Honorable Ken Hechler (D-W.Va., 1959-1977) and the Honorable Ron Sarasin (R-Conn., 1973-1979), will address the role of public service in citizenship at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23 in Sydnor Performance Hall, Schewel Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.

The Congress to Campus Program sends bipartisan pairs of former members of Congress to visit college campuses all over the country for two and a half days of classes, forums, and informal meetings with college and community members. Both Hechler and Sarasin bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge about the legislative process.

Dr. Tim Meinke, assistant professor of political science at Lynchburg College, set up the visit as part of LC's Year of the Citizen. Meinke said there will be ample time for questions and answers.
