2005 Season

The Hornets returned to championship form in 2005 as they won the ODAC championship and made the NCAA tournament for the second time in three seasons. The squad went 13-5 overall (4-2 in ODAC) and defeated rival Roanoke College in the ODAC final by a score of 11-10. The Hornets were then victorious over Denison University in the second round of the NCAA tournament that set up another showdown with Roanoke in the quarterfinals, but Roanoke escaped with a 10-9 victory over the visiting Hornets.

Billy McCullochBilly McCulloch (pictured left) led all scorers with 58 points (44g, 14a). His 44 goals put him in ninth place in program history for that category. Freshman Ryan Cranston had a tremendous rookie season, posting 33 goals and a team-high 23 assists for 56 points. LC outscored its opponents 201-123 and had a 647-579 advantage in the groundballs category. Garrett Curran started all 18 games in net and recorded 182 saves with a 7.02 goals against average.
