No. 15 Lynchburg Indoor Men Soar at Susquehanna Invitational
SELINSGROVE, PA – The No. 15 Lynchburg men’s indoor track and field team travelled north Saturday, and excelled as the Hornets competed in the Susquehanna Indoor Invitational on the campus of Susquehanna University.
Senior Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) continued to shine on the track, as he clocked a 6.50 in the 55-meter finals, which is the third-best time in Lynchburg indoor history. E
Edwards also ran with Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Hermitage), Thomas Clark (Alexandria, VA/TC Williams) and Chris Word (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) to set the LC record in the 4x200 meter relay. Word ran a personal-best in the 55-meters, booking a 6.70.
Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) finished second in the mile run, finishing with a 4:28, while the mile relay also finished second with a time of 3:26.61. Freshman Kevonte Warner (Scottsville, VA/Buckingham Co.) ran a 8.03 in the high hurdles for third place, while fellow newcomer James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) was right behind with a time of 8.07.
John Micheal Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) and Daniel Reid (Hamilton, MA/Hamilton-Wenhom) each registered personal-highs in the weight throw, as they tossed the weight 48 ½ and 46 feet, respectively.
The Hornets will now travel to the University of North Carolina next Friday in Chapel Hill, NC.
