
The Hornets won three-straight games in midseason in 1989 and finished with a 7-8 overall record under new coach Stewart Moan. Tom Sipple netted 34 goals and ended with 54 points to lead the squad, and Frank Mascaro led the team with 23 assists. John Feick scooped a team-high 78 groundballs and Rick Olin made 218 saves in net with a 7.8 goals-against average and a 65 save percentage.
