Hornet Women Track at ETSU, George Mason University

Hornet Women's Track Goes to ETSU, George Mason University 

            JOHNSON CITY, TN and FAIRFAX, VA - The Lynchburg College women's track and field team split the squads and traveled to both the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State University and the Patriot Games on the campus of George Mason University Saturday.

            At the ETSU meet, sophomore Jennifer Pernisi (Camden, NY/APW) placed 17th in the 5,000 meter run, running the distance in 18:56. Junior Ashley Meyer (Springfield, MO/Glendale) ran the top Division-III time in the mile, logging a 5:19.15. Jaimie Lull (Providence Forge, VA/New Kent) finished 28th with a time of 2:32.15.

            Jill Dziewisz (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) placed fifth in the pole vault at the GMU meet, clearing a height of three meters. Ashley Allen (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) tossed the weight 12.59 meters, as the best D-III distance in the weight throw.

             The Hornets are back in action next weekend when they travel to both the VMI Relays in Lexington, VA and the Susquehanna University Invitational in Selinsgrove, PA.
