
The Hornet 1986 squad finished 5-8 overall. Phil Smith led the team with 46 goals and added 17 assists, and Corbin Hunt led the team with 29 assists and was second with 52 points. Ed Walker was successful on 53 percent of his face-off opportunities.
After the season, Smith became the first Lynchburg men's lacrosse player to earn All-american honors.
Smith and Hunt both earned spots on the All-ODAC team and Smith was also named an All-American.
