1985 Season
The 1985 season proved to be a record setting season. The Hornets went 4-9 on the season, but established a then single-game scoring record with 23 goals against Wooster in a 23-18 victory and they also had a big victory over Virginia Tech (19-7) along with wins over Hampden-Sydney and Virginia Military Institute. Phil Smith recorded then single-season school records of 46 goals and 64 points and the team set a new single-season record of 202 goals. Phil Smith and Scott Rogers were named to the All-ODAC team
