Emory & Henry Upends Men's Basketball Team 89-74

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Emory & Henry College men's basketball team upended Lynchburg College 89-74 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Saturday afternoon from Turner Gymnasium.

The Hornets were down just 72-69 with 4:52 left in the second-half, but the Wasps answered with an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to put the game out of reach for Lynchburg. Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) led Lynchburg with 22 points and seven rebounds while shooting 8-13 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line. KC Mendez (San Antonio, TX/Winston Churchill) added 16 points, and Steven Echols (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) and Sean Sutherland (Alexandria, VA/Commonwealth) tacked on 12 points each.

Robert Hudson came off the bench to post a game-high 25 points on the heels of 11-for-12 shooting from the foul line for Emory & Henry (8-10/2-7 ODAC). Terrance Grigg contributed with 15 points and six boards, Camillo Weinz had 12 points, and Kyle Huckins added 11 points. LC had 24 turnovers compared to just 14 for E&H, and the Wasps were 8-27 from three point range with LC going 2-8.

Lynchburg College (3-14/1-7 ODAC) will travel to Virginia Beach, VA, on Wednesday to play the Virginia Wesleyan College Marlins at 7 p.m. in ODAC play.
