LC Track Travels To Virginia Tech
BLACKBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College indoor track and field team recorded a number of outstanding performances this weekend at the Hokie Invitational, hosted by Virginia Tech.
Senior Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) leaped 45-07 3/4" in the triple jump, and ran times of 7.05 and 22.53 in the 60 and 200-meter dashes, respectively. James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) tied for third in school history by clearing 15'1" in the pole vault, and Tommy Clark (Alexandria, VA/TC Williams) went over the bar at 14'7".
Chris Word (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) ran a 35.58 in the 300-meter dash and Sam Steinke (The Woodlands, TX/American School of Dubai) finished the 400 in 50.02. Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) completed the 3,000 meters in 8:54.03 and Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) crossed the finish line in 1:58.12 in the 800.
The Hornets travel to Liberty University next weekend.
