Hornet Women's Track Competes at W&L Tune-Up
LEXINGTON, VA - The Lynchburg College indoor track and field team competed Friday evening in the Washington & Lee University Tune-up Meet, hosted at the Virginia Military Institute.
Sophomore Daphne Desrosiers (Pembroke Pines, FL/Killingly) won the 55-meter dash in 7.53 seconds, a time which ranks second on the Hornet all-time list. Ashley Allen (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) won the weight throw with a heave of 13.78 meters and was second in the shot put (10.97m). Olivia Johnston (Cranbury, NJ/Princeton), Christina Washington (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) and Krystle Landes finished second, third and fourth in the 400-meters and teamed with Amanda Johnston (Middletown, DE/Caravel Academy) to take four-place in the 4x400 relay.
The team will send a few distance runners to the Virginia Tech Invitational on Saturday.
