LC Box Score vs. Randolph

Kylie Lucas scored a career-high 26 points Friday night.            LYNCHBURG, VA - Sophomore forward Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance) scored a game and career-high 26 points as the Hornets of Lynchburg College scored a 74-61 win over crosstown rival Randolph College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Friday night from Turner Gym.

Lucas was hot all night, as she nailed 12 of her 18 attempts from the floor, scoring 13 points in each half. The first stanza started with Randolph controlling the tempo, as the WildCats (1-10/1-8 ODAC) led by as many seven points midway through the half. LC battled back and took a 29-24 lead going into the halftime intermission.

After the midway break, Lynchburg (6-8/4-5 ODAC)  lost the lead for a two minute stretch, but regained it on a Lucas layup and never trailed again, as the Hornets ballooned the lead up to 17 points with 3:17 left.

Junior Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds, also dishing out four assists and snatching six steals. Junior Kristina Darby (Tampa, FL/Holy Names) had 12 points and four assists, while Dana Esposito (New Port Richey, FL/Holy Names) posted 10 points, five boards and four helpers.

RC's Lindsey Cross led the WildCats with 19 points, as she hit on six of her 10 attempts from the floor. The ODAC leader in double-doubles, Michelle Brockman, added another with 15 points and 14 caroms, while teammate Parrisa Samani connected on six of her seven field goals for 12 points.

LC shot 43 percent compared to RC's 46 percent, though the WildCats turned the ball over 29 times and hit on only eight of their 19 free throw attempts

Lynchburg will travel to Roanoke, VA tomorrow afternoon for another league game at 2 p.m. against Hollins University.
