Hornet Men's Lax Ranked in Top 10 in Two Pre-Season Rankings
Tyler Tolson, Michael Mundorf Honorable Mention All-Americans
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team is ranked in the top 10 in two separate pre-season top 20 polls, taking the sixth spot in Lacrosse Magazine and #10 in Inside Lacrosse.
The Hornets will face five teams listed in the rankings: Salisbury University, Stevenson University, Cabrini College, Roanoke College and Denison University as well as games in the always competitive ODAC.
"We are really excited about the upcoming 2009 season," said LC head coach Steve Koudelka. "Our schedule will be one of the toughest in the history of the program and our team is extremely eager for the challenges that lie ahead."
Inside Lacrosse also released its pre-season All-American team, and senior attacks Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) and Michael Mundorf (Catonsville, MD/Mt. Saint Joseph) received honorable mentions. Tolson led the team with 42 goals and earned first-team All-State and second team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors in 2008. Mundorf posted second-team all-conference honors in 2008 after leading the squad with 23 assists and compiling 47 points overall.
"It is great for Tyler and Mike to be recognized and I know they have prepared themselves for an outstanding senior campaign," said Koudelka. "The goals of this program continue to be to win the ODAC Title and compete for the National Championship."
