Hornet Men Suffer 103-60 Setback to Guilford College

GREENSBORO, NC - The Lynchburg College men's basketball team suffered a 103-60 setback to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Guilford College Wednesday night.

LC was down just 25-23 with 9:58 left in the first half, but Guilford went on a 16-0 run to take a 41-23 advantage with 4:04 remaining in the stanza to put the game out of reach for the Hornets. KC Mendez (San Antonio, TX/Winston Churchill) paced LC with 17 points on 6-12 shooting from the field and 3-5 from three. Sean Sutherland (Alexandira, VA/Commonwealth) came off the bench to provide 11 points in just 11 minutes while Brad Kenney (Advance, NC/Bishop McGuinness) posted six points and nine rebounds.

Clay Henson led five scorers in double figures for the Quakers (9-2/2-0 ODAC), scoring 29 points on 11-18 shooting overall and grabbing eight boards. Rhett Bonner and Tyler Sanborn each added 16 points and combined to shoot 12-17. Gabriel Lowder contributed with 11 points and George Neville posted 10 points and four offensive rebounds.

Lynchburg (3-10/1-3 ODAC) return to the cocurt on Saturday at 2 p.m. as they travel to Bridgewater, VA, to square off with ODAC foe Bridgewater College.
