In the first stanza, the lead changed hands nine times as the home team took a 31-30 lead into the break. Junior Brittany Dahn (Richmond, VA/Deep Run) had a double-double in the first half with 11 points and 11 boards, while Dana Esposito (New Port Richey, FL/Holy Names) added 10 points.
After intermission, Lynchburg led for most of the half extending its lead up to its highest point at five after a Kristina Darby (Tampa, FL/Holy Names) jumper. The Maroons took their only lead of the second half with 1:54 left on the game clock, as a Jalessa Osborne free-throw ended a 6-0 run by RC.

Sophomore center Jordan Gholson had 12 points, eight rebounds, five blocks for the visitors. RC shot 34 percent from the floor, but hit only 18 of its 33 free throw attempts (55 percent).
