Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA - Junior guard Dana Esposito (New Port Richey, FL/Holy Names) scored 17 points, 14 in the first half, to lead the Lynchburg College women's basketball team to a 68-62 win over Guilford College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play from Turner Gym.

The Hornets opened a six-point lead midway through the first half, but the Quakers rallied to take their own six-point advantage late in the stanza before Esposito scored the last five points before intermission to pull LC back to just a 37-36 deficit at the half.

The lead changed hands several times in the second half and was tied at 60 all with 2:43 left on the game clock.  Sophomore center Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance) gave the Hornets the lead for good with a pair of free throws and Chevonne Booker (Richmond, VA/Thomas Jefferson) drilled a deep two-point jumper to put LC up four. The Hornet defense forced two late turnovers to seal the game.

Esposito added five assists and nailed three of her five attempts from three-point distance. Lucas posted 12 points and three assists and freshman Annie Terry (Appomattox, VA/Appomattox) had 10 points and five rebounds. Brittany Dahn (Richmond, VA/Deep Run, VA) scored six points and tied for a game-high with nine boards.

Tracey Croner tied Esposito and Dahn for game-highs with 17 points and nine rebounds. Jasmine Wood had 11 points and five caroms while Alexa Williams contributed 10 points and five rebounds for Guilford (3-4/2-2 ODAC).
