HARRISONBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's basketball team lost an 89-85 nailbiter to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Eastern Mennonite University Wednesday night.

LC went into the half down 32-28 but came out in the second stanza ready to fight back as the Hornets secured a 44-43 margin with 15:16 remaining in the game and were fighting back and forth to tie the game at 50-50 with 12:30 left. EMU answered back in impressive fashion by converting on a four-point play to take the lead for good at the 11:07 mark. The Royals' lead ballooned to 10 (74-64) with 4:20 to go in the game, but the Hornets fought back and staged a ferocious comeback, cutting the margin to just two with five seconds left. After a Lynchburg foul, EMU's George Johnson iced the game by converting both free throw attempts to push the lead to four with only two seconds left in the contest to secure the win for the Royals.

LC was fueled by two 22-point scorers in Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) and Steven Echols (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) as well as a strong game from KC Mendez (San Antonio, TX/Winston Churchill).
