Freshman (2008-09): Showed a ton of potential for the future with his freshman campaign . . . sprinter and jumper for the Hornets . . . ran the 200 meters and 400 meters, while also competing in the long and triple jumps . . . had the team's best 400 meter time of the season at the Virginia Tech meet, running a 50.02 . . . was third on the squad in both the long and triple jump events . . . finished second in the 400 meters at the ODAC meet, also helping LC to a first place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.
Before LC: Earned 18 letters in track, volleyball, soccer, and basketball at the American School of Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates...named the most improved player in 2006 and 2008 and the MVP in 2007...Athlete of the Year in 2006 and 2008...had top times of 50.47 in the 400 meters and 2:04 in 800 meters...also jumped 12.46 meters in the triple jump...named the MVP of the volleyball team in 2006 and 2008.
Personal: Son of Louis and Laurie Steinke . . . has two sisters.
