Lynchburg Women Harriers Run at NCAA South/Southeast Regional
South/Southeast Regional Meet Results
SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Lynchburg College women's cross country team finished eighth out of 24 teams in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional meet Saturday. The meet was run on the campus of Texas Lutheran University over a 6K course.
The Hornets were led by the legs of Ashley Meyer (Springfield, MO/Glendale) and Jennie Pernisi (Camden, NY/APW). Meyer finished 21st overall in 23:49 while Pernisi was right behind her with a 23rd overall placing in a time of 23:51. Both runners garnered All-Region accolades for their performances Saturday.
Also placing the Hornets was Megan Donnelly (McLean, VA/McLean), who trekked the course in a time of 24:44 for 43rd place, followed eight places later by Lindsay Fender (Fork Union, VA/Fluvanna) and her time of 25:08.
Stephanie Searing (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) ran a 25:41 for 70th best, while Kelly Doescher (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) and Erin Grogan (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes) finished in 105th and 123rd place, respectively.
Taylor Stephens of Rhodes College won top individual honors, as she crossed the line in 21:55. Trinity University (TX) took home the top team spot, as the school finished with 43 points. Finishing behind Trinity was Emory University with 55 points, Washington & Lee (105, Rhodes (141) and Christopher Newport University with 196 points.
