Lynchburg Sweeps Women's Soccer Player, Freshman, and Coach of the Year Awards
Seven Players Earn All-ODAC Honors

SALEM, VA - The Lynchburg College women's soccer team had seven players honored on the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) team along with earning the Player, Freshman, and Coach of the Year Awards.

Junior midfielder Ashley Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon) took home the Player of the Year award after guiding LC to the ODAC Championship behind three second-half goals against Virginia Wesleyan in the Championship match. Ashley has posted a career-high 18 goals this season along with three assists for 39 points. Beverly Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon), Ashley's sister, was named the top freshman in the conference this fall. She played in all 22 games at defender and started 21 contests and helped the Hornets to allow just nine goals this season while also tallying six assists. Dr. Todd Olsen was tabbed as the conference's Coach of the Year, his fifth time winning the award and first since the 2004 campaign.

Joining the Hoath sisters on the first-team is forward Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) and defender Katelyn LeRiche (Guilford, CT/Guilford). Kwiatkowski leads Lynchburg in scoring with 16 goals - four game-winners - and a school single season record 17 assists. LeRiche started all 22 contests and was often given the duties of checking the opponent's top offensive threat.

Second-team accolades went to sophomore midfielder Lindsay Gengras (Avon, CT/Avon), freshman midfielder Brittany Klippstein (Springfield, VA/West Springfield), and sophomore forward Katie Santos (Cheltenham, MD/Bishop Ireton). Gengras contributed with four goals and a team second best seven assists in 21 matches. Klippstein started all 22 games and currently stands in fifth place on the team in goals and points. Santos leads the team and ODAC in goals scored with 23 and is second on the squad with 47 points.

Lynchburg will host first and second round NCAA Tournament action this weekend. LC plays Maryville (TN) at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Emory University will square off against St. Mary's (Md.) at 1:30 p.m. The winners advance to the second round of the tournament on Sunday with game time set for 1 p.m.
