Seventh Seeded Volleyball Continues Cinderella Run Through ODAC Tournament, Defeating #3 VWC 3-2 in the Semifinals
Savannah Tinsley Establishes New School Single-Match and Single-Season Digs Record

ROANOKE, VA - The #7 seed Lynchburg College Hornets continued their Cinderella run through the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament Saturday morning by defeating #3 seed Virginia Wesleyan College 3-2 in the semifinals. LC now advances to the ODAC Championship game today at 3:30 p.m. as they battle #1 Washington & Lee University. Livestats for the match can be found at the ODAC website.

Virginia Wesleyan rolled to a 25-14 first game win, but LC bounced back to win the second game 25-22. VWC claimed another convincing victory, winning the third set 25-17, but LC fought back to earn a win of their own in the fourth set, 25-21. In the fifth and decisive set, LC proved their mettle with a statement making 15-8 win.

Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) had a record-breaking performance. Her 45 digs set the single-match record, breaking the previous record of 43 held by current assistant coach Corri Pfister. Tinsley also currently has 581 digs this season, breaking another Pfister record by two digs.

Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monocan), Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County), and Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) each posted 11 digs. Jones and Kritter added a combined five service aces and three blocks while Kritter and Murphy combined to contribute 32 digs. Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) tacked on 12 kills and three blocks, and Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) poured in 41 assists and 13 digs.
