LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College field hockey team defeated #6 seed Bridgewater College 4-0 Wednesday evening in the semifinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament.

Sophomore midfielder Jenny Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) scored an unassisted goal 18:48 into the contest to get LC on the board. Senior Carter Maxey (Midlothian, VA/James River) drilled back-to-back goals in a two-minute span late in the half, on assists from Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) and Jenny Weir, for a 3-0 halftime edge. Allie Weir added an insurance goal seven minutes after intermission, on an assist from her sister.

Lynchburg (16-5) outshot the Eagles 31-0 and held an 18-3 edge in penalty corners. Elizabeth Sullivan made 10 saves for the Eagles (10-10).

The second-seeded Hornets will face top-seed Eastern Mennonite University (a 6-0 winner over Washington & Lee University today) in the ODAC title game in Harrisonburg, VA. It is the third straight year that the two teams have done battle with the conference crown on the line, with LC winning both previous matchups.
