Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg college men's soccer team posted a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Randolph College in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) quarterfinals from Shellenberger Field Saturday night.

LC outshot the WildCats 12-0 in the first half, but only two were directed on goal as Randolph (7-12) goalie Aaron Humphreys saved both. LC upped the pressure in the second-half, outgunning the WildCats 16-1, but Humphreys stopped five more shots to send the game to overtime. At the 97:17 mark, Cam Smith (Goode, VA/Jefferson Forest) passed the ball towards the net as a WildCat player deflected the ball to Donald Hart III (Springfield, VA/Paul VI) who shot the ball into the upper left corner just out of the reach of Humphreys.

The Hornets (14-2-3) outshot Randolph 30-1 and held a commanding 11-1 edge in corner kicks. Humphreys recorded seven saves on the night.

The Hornets will host the winner of #3 seed Virginia Wesleyan College and #6 seed Eastern Mennonite University on Wednesday in the ODAC semi-finals at a time to be determined.
