Lynchburg Volleyball Narrowly Loses in Five Sets to Emory & Henry

EMORY, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team narrowly lost in five sets on the road at Emory & Henry College on Thursday to conclude regular season and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. LC will advance to the ODAC Tournament as the #7 seed to face Randolph-Macon College.

LC won the first set 25-22, but the Wasps came back to take the next two sets by scored of 25-14 and 25-15. The Hornets forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-22 win in set four but would fall in set five by a score of 15-10.

Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) moved back to the libero role to collect 29 digs, and Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) posted 10 digs and a team-high 15 kills. Kristina Giordano (Huntingdon Station, NY/Walt Whitman) returned to the lineup as the setter and dished out 40 assists and corralled 10 digs. Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County) tallied 18 digs and Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) contributed with 10 kills and two blocks.

Lynchburg (14-15/4-6 ODAC) will return to the court on November 7-8 for the ODAC Tournament at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA.
