Allie Weir Wins Another ODAC Player of the Week Award

SALEM, VA - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) office announced Monday that junior attack Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) had been honored as the league's field hockey player of the week for the third time this season.

It was the fifth time in her career that she took home weekly accolades, as Weir added onto her team best totals in points and goals, now currently posting 28 goals and 58 points.  She scored six of Lynchburg's seven goals this week, including her 12th career hat-trick and sixth four-goal game of her career against Randolph-Macon.

Weir has now scored in 49 of her 62 career games played at LC, good for an 80-percent clip, and has scored in all but two Hornet games this season. Weir moved into second place at LC for goals in a career with 93.  That total also moves her into third place on the ODAC all-time goals scored list, just 13 goals short of tying for Hornet Phebe Phelps (1981-84) for the top spot.

The Hornets battle Roanoke College Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. on Shellenberger Field for Senior Day.
