Volleyball Splits with Southern Virginia and Hood in a Tri-Match

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team lost in three to Southern Virginia University - 25-23, 25-17, and 26-24 - but came back to roll past Hood College 25-12, 25-20, and 25-9.

In the match against Southern Virginia, Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) posted 22 assists and five service aces as she moved to the setter position from libero. Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rapahannock) had eight kills and 19 digs while Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) tacked on nine kills. Tiffany Goodman (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) had a career-high 25 digs, Jasmine Murphy (Sjipman, VA/Nelson County) contributed with 15 digs, and Kara Matthews (Richmond, VA/Freeman) collected 11 digs.

In the second match versus Hood College, Tinsley added 26 assists and 10 digs, and Kritter contributed with 20 digs, seven kills, two sevice aces, and two blocks. Ashley Stokes (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) tallied eight digs and seven kills, and Matthew has eight kills. Murphy posted 17 digs and Goodman tacking on nine digs.

Lynchburg (13-12/3-4 ODAC) travels to Randolph-Macon College at 6:30 p.m.
