Women Harriers Take Part in Gettysburg XC Invitational
Gettysburg Invitational Results
GETTYSBURG, PA – The Lynchburg College women’s cross country team, recently ranked No. 5 in the region, finished 11th out of 21 teams Saturday at the Gettysburg Cross Country Invitational, which was run on a 6K course at Gettysburg College.
The Lynchburg squad ended with 258 points, which sandwiched them between McDaniel (MD) College and Roberts Wesleyan College. Leading the way for the Hornets was sophomore Lindsay Fender (Fork Union, VA/Fluvanna), as she finished 37th overall with a time of 24:15.
Junior Ashley Meyer (Springfield, MO/Glendale) and senior Megan Donnelly (McLean, VA/McLean) finished 47th and 48th respectively, as they each booked times of 24:32. Molly Galloway (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) returned to the lineup for her first meet in over a month to register a 24:42 for the 55th spot. Sophomore Stephanie Searing (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) was the last Hornet scorer, as she posted a time of 25:32 for 89th place.
Johns Hopkins took home the team title, as the Blue Jays placed four runners in the top 17 spots. JHU’s Laura Paulsen was the top female finisher, while Alycia Woodruff of Susquehanna University and Sarah Fritz of Gettysburg rounded out the top three overall.
Lynchburg gets next week off before traveling to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship meet, which is set for Saturday, November 1 at 11 a.m. in Virginia Beach, VA.
