Hornet Golf Places Sixth at Virginia State Invitational

            ASHLAND, VA – The Lynchburg College golf team placed sixth after rounds Sunday and Monday at the 12-team Virginia State Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College at Hanover Country Club. The Hornets shot a team score of 644, eight strokes from the fifth spot, while Bridgewater College took home the team title with a two-day score of 619.

Freshman Conrad Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) paced Lynchburg with a combined score of 157, good for 13th place individually. He shot an 80 on Sunday and carded a 77 on Monday on the par 71 course. Ryan White (Round Hill, VA/Loudon Valley) fired a 161, Joey Brunet (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellam) ended with 166 and Augie Camacho (Suffolk, VA/Lakeland) totaled 168. Patrick Leyshon (London, OH/London) was right behind with a 169.

The Virginia State Invitational concludes the fall season for the Hornets.
