Hornet Riders Tie for Fifth at Hollins
ROANOKE, VA – The Lynchburg College equestrian team tied for fifth place Friday at the 10-school Hollins University IHSA Show.
Freshman Charlotte Harris (Middleburg, VA/Madeira) won the open fences competition and Jamie Carrille (Virginia Beach, VA/Frank W. Cox) won the novice flat. Kelly Gerland (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) and Jenny Anzelmo (Yellowstone National Park, WY/Madeira) tied for third in intermediate fences. Katie Bremen (Saint James, NY/Smithtown) took second in novice fences, while Caitlin Flathers (Rixeyville, VA) was fourth. Jordan Rooney (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) placed fourth in the open flat, Flathers took sixth in the intermediate flat and Mary Prinzinger (Goode, VA/Jefferson Forest) earned third place in the novice flat. Sarah Ridgeway (Locust Dale, VA/Orange County) and Mallory Williams finished third in the advance walk-trot-canter and walk trot, respectively.
LC will co-host an IHSA event with Randolph College this Friday.
