LC and Hampden-Sydney Play to 0-0 Double OT tie

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College and Hampden-Sydney College men’s soccer teams played to a 0-0 double overtime tie Saturday evening in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

After a scoreless first half, LC outshot the Tigers 12-6 in the second stanza, including an outstanding chance as regulation time expired – but a Hampden-Sydney team save ended the threat. Both teams had scoring opportunities in the first 10-minute overtime period, but the Hornets out-shot H-SC 4-0 in the final extra frame.

John Robert Plyler had eight saves for the Tigers (6-3-1/2-1-1 ODAC) and Lynchburg’s Matt Sturdivant had six stops. For the game, the Hornets outshot H-SC 26-14 and held a 10-6 edge in corner kicks.

The Hornets (7-2-2/3-0-2 ODAC) travel to Washington & Lee University for another conference match at 4 p.m.
