Bridgewater Upends Lynchburg Volleyball

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team fell in four sets to Bridgewater College in an ODAC contest Tuesday night.

Bridgewater won the first set, but LC came back to win the second set. The Hornets would start off both the third and fourth sets with commanding 9-0 and 7-0 leads, but the Eagles fought back to claim victory in both sets to win the match.

Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) tallied 32 assists, 17 digs, five service aces, and two blocks to pace the Hornets. Elena Kritter poured in 10 kills and 22 digs while Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) collected 28 digs. Chelsea Jones hit for 10 kills and posted four blocks with Erin Heffelfinger tacking on seven kills. Ashley Stokes (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) and Michelle Boucher combined for nine kills and five blocks, and Jasmine Murphy and Tiffany Good (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) totalled 27 combined digs.

 Lynchburg returns to the court this Saturday to square off against Randolph College in Turner Gymnasium at 2 p.m. as part of the Parents & Family Weekend festivities.
