LC Golf Competes at Greensboro College Invitational
GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg College golf team took on a field of 16 teams over the past two days, finishing with a team score of 619, which ranked LC second among Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schools. The tournament was played at Bryan Park Golf Course, which plays at 7,076 yards with a par of 72.
Lynchburg trailed only Guilford College, the leader after one day of competition. Complete final results were not available, but Lynchburg did edge fellow league members Randolph-Macon College and Washington & Lee University that carded numbers of 620 and 627, respectively.
Leading the way for the Hornets was junior Michael Butzgy (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place), who booked a 78 Monday and a 74 Tuesday for a team-best 152. Right behind him was Conrad Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer.Int.), who carded a 77 and a 76 for a total of 153.
Senior Ryan White (Round Hill, VA/Loudoun Valley) finished with a 156 after rounds of 77 and 79, while teammate Joey Brunet (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellum) took 158 strokes, notching scores of 77 and 81.
The Hornets will compete in the Hampden-Sydney College Tournament next Monday and Tuesday afternoons on The Manor Resort Golf Course.
