Lynchburg Volleyball Derailed by VA Wesleyan in Four Sets

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team was derailed by the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College 26-24, 25-20, 23-25, and 25-17 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action from Turner Gymnasium Wednesday.

Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA) posted 15 kills and 11 digs while Erin Heffelfinger (Chapel Hill, NC/Chapel Hill) had 10 kills and five digs. Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) and Ashley Stokes (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) each had eight kills and six digs and combined for three blocks. Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) handed out 35 assists and collected 10 digs while Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) had 30 digs. Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/ Nelson County) tacked on 10 digs to go with 13 digs from Tiffany Goodman (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage).

LC falls to 10-8 overall and 2-1 in the ODAC while VWC goes to 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the ODAC.

 Lynchburg hosts perennial ODAC power Bridgewater College at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
