Volleyball Defeats Ferrum 3-0

FERRUM, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Ferrum College 25-20, 25-20, and 25-13 on Monday night in non-conference action.

Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monocan) posted a team-high 10 kills and two service aces, Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) contributed with nine kills, and Erin Heffelfinger (Chapel Hill, NC/Chapel Hill) tacked on seven kills. Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) had eight kills and nine digs, and Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) had 12 digs. Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NYY/Walt Whitman) dished out 35 assists along with three kills, two service aces, Ashley Stokes (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) blocked three attack attempts, and Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County) collected seven digs.

Jessica Flanagan had a game-high 12 kills for Ferrum (2-9) and Lauren Thurman had 16 digs. Jessica Washburn and Jenni Carter had 17 and 14 assists respectively.

Lynchburg (10-7) hosts Virginia Wesleyan College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
