Volleyball Sweeps at Mountain State Tri-Match
BECKLEY, WV – The Lynchburg College volleyball team sweeped at the Mountain State Tri-Match on Saturday, defeating Appalachian Bible College in three sets and in four sets against Mountain State University.
LC breezed to a 25-11, 25-7, 25-8 three-set victory over Appalachian Bible. Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) dished out 25 assists while Chelsea Jones (Richmonda, VA/Monocan) had four service aces and five kills. Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) and Ashley Stokes (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) had seven and five kills respectively and each added on three blocks. Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County) recorded seven digs.
Lynchburg defeated Mountain State by scores of 25-22, 25-17, 14-25, and 25-22. Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) posted 14 kills and 17 digs while Jones contributed 12 kills, five service aces, and three blocks. Stokes taked on five blocks, Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/EC Glass) had 23 digs, and Giordano added on 34 assists and 12 digs.
LC (9-7) travels Ferrum, VA, on Monday to face Ferrum College at 7 p.m. in non-conference action.
