Allie Weir Takes Home ODAC Field Hockey Honor

SALEM, VA – As announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) league office Monday, junior attack Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) was named the conference’s field hockey top performer for the last week of play.

Weir scored all four goals for Lynchburg (3-3) this weekend, as the Hornets finished a 1-1 weekend. In a tough 2-1 loss to No. 10 Johns Hopkins University Saturday, Weir scored LC’s lone goal in a second-half comeback effort. Weir turned around a day later to book her ninth career hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Stevenson University (MD).

Weir now has 18 points and nine goals on the year, both numbers tops in the ODAC. LC is off until this Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. when it will travel to Harrisonburg, VA to battle the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University in the league play opener for both teams.
