#7 Women’s Soccer Breezes to 5-0 win over Greensboro

            LYNCHBURG, VA – The seventh-ranked Lynchburg College women’s soccer team jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and finished with a 5-0 win over the Pride of Greensboro College Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play.

            Junior midfielder Ashley Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon) opened the scoring at the 12:26 mark of the first half on a free kick. Brittany Klippstein (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) netted an unassisted tally and Jess Mader (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) found Katie Santos (Cheltenham, MD/Bishop Ireton) and the Hornets had a three-goal lead at intermission. Lynchburg took a 4-0 lead after a Greensboro own-goal, and ended the scoring with a Joanie Snyder (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) score from Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson).

            LC led 24-1 in shots and 4-0 in corner kicks.  Katie Allegro made six saves for the Pride (1-3-1).

            Lynchburg (4-0-1) hosts Christopher Newport University Friday evening at 7 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
