Sewanee defeats Guilford College Sunday 2-0


 The University of the South defeated Guilford College Sunday 2-0 behind two tallies from Audrey Jernigan in the second day’s first game of the Shellenberger Women’s Soccer Classic, hosted by Lynchburg College.

After a scoreless first half, Jernigan scored from Virginia Zakas at the 67:21 mark to give the Tigers (2-1) a 1-0 lead. Jernigan scored again on a header with just over a minute remaining on the game clock from Allison Davis to push the lead to two. Jenny Robb made two saves to preserve the shutout, and Amber Stapler made 11 stops for the Quakers (1-3).
