LC Men Rally for win 3-2 over Moravian

LC Men Rally for win 3-2 over Moravian

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men’s soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit Saturday evening to score a 3-2 win over Moravian College (PA) in the second game of the four-team Shellenberger Classic.

Taylor Molinaro scored an unassisted goal 4:40 into the game for the Greyhounds and Moravian was aided by a Lynchburg College own-goal mid-way through the first half. Cameron Smith (Goode, VA/Jefferson Forest) got LC on the board 2:30 after intermission, and Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) tied the score at two on a direct kick at 56:21.  The deciding goal was a Moravian own goal with 6:26 remaining on the game clock.

Lynchburg outshot its guests 27-5 and had an 8-2 edge in corner kicks. Chris Nederostek made seven saves for Moravian (1-2) and Hornet Matt Sturdivant (Bear, DE/Caravel Academy) made three stops.

The Hornets face Washington & Jefferson Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
