Lynchburg Takes Home Three ODAC Player of the Week Awards

            SALEM, VALynchburg College was well-represented on the weekly Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) player of the week list, as three Hornets took home top honors as announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

            Junior men’s soccer player Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) won the league’s weekly accolade after dominating the Arbys/Hampden Sydney Classic. Reed posted six points in a 9-1 win over Shenandoah Saturday, and followed that up with a two-goal, one assist performance in a 5-0 victory over Mountain State Sunday.

            Junior Erin Funkhouser (Natural Bridge, VA/Menchville) was tabbed as the ODAC Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring once and dishing out an assist in a 2-1 victory over Dickinson College Sunday afternoon.

            Sophomore Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) was named as the league’s top women’s soccer performer after helping the Hornets take the Haverford Kick-Off Classic title for the second consecutive year. Kwiatkowski scored a goal in each of LC’s first two games, including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Haverford College Sunday.
