LC Women’s Soccer Defeats Haverford 1-0
Captures Haverford Tourney Title 

            HAVERFORD, PA – Sophomore forward Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) scored the game’s only goal late in the first half to lift the Lynchburg College women’s soccer team to a 1-0 win over Haverford College in the title game of the 2008 Haverford Kick-Off Tournament.

            Kwiatkowski’s unassisted goal at the 36:53 mark gave the Hornets their second-consecutive Haverford Kick-Off Title. Sophomore keeper Anna Wright (Ashland, VA/Patrick Henry) made two stops to preserve the shutout.

             Lynchburg held advantages of 13-6 in shots and 5-2 in corner kicks.

             The Hornets hosts the four-team Shellenberger Classic next Saturday and Sunday.
