Ronnie LaBrie playing well in Gulf Coast League


Recent Lynchburg College draftee Ronnie LaBrie (Vinton, VA/Staunton River), drafted in the 38th round this summer by the Washington Nationals organization, has been playing well in his first taste of professional baseball.

As of August 5, Labrie is hitting .338 for the Nationals Rookie League affiliate, the Gulf Coast Nationals, based in Viera, FL. He has played 24 games at third base and has an on-base percentage of .421 and a slugging percentage of .463. LaBrie has scored 21 runs, driven in 15 and has stolen six bags in 80 at bats.
