About RHA

What is RHA?
The Lynchburg College Residence Hall Association was established in 1999. The purpose of RHA is to further a sense of community within the residence halls through programming and to advance the common interests of the residential students.

Can anyone join RHA?
All students living in college owned housing are eligible to be members of the association.

What does RHA do?
RHA works towards the improvement of the Residence Halls. RHA values the experience of the residents and in turn voice the concerns of the Residents to the Office of Residence life . RHA also holds a series of annual events such as Wet'n Wild, the faculty/staff talent show, as well as many fun and informative programs that are organized by the members.

Are RHA members Resident Assistants?

Contrary to popular belief, RHA members are not Resident Assistants. Although RHA works closely with the office of residence life , the RHA members do not carry the same responsibilities as the Residence Life staff.

The Resident Assistants are employed by the college to foster and oversee each hall community. The RHA members, on the other hand, voluntarily join the organization. They do not receive any compensation from the College. However, they do gain great leadership skills and make lasting friendships.
