Each year several Lynchburg College students elect to study abroad for a full semester. There is a wide array of programs offering students the opportunity to:

- engage in internships and field placements,
- live with a host family to practice language skills and enhance the cultural experience,
- take classes at a foreign university with host country and other international students, and
- travel independently while abroad.
Students who wish to study abroad for a semester have the following options:
- exchange programs through the College's sister schools, Fachhochschule Vorarlberg in Dornbirn, Austria; Laval University in Quebec City, Canada; and Hannam University in Daejeon, South Korea
- programs offered by Study Abroad Service Providers, and
- programs operated by other colleges and universities
In recent years LC students have studied abroad in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
