| Nursing major Peter Wilcox ’09 and education major Christina Pittman ’11 perform pre-school screenings in St. Lucia. Before embarking on their program to the Caribbean island, LC students took a “Cross-Cultural Explorations” course in preparation for their service learning experience. |
It's important for students to know about international travel and the countries they'll be visiting. Pre-departure sessions will focus on cultural awareness, packing, safety tips, etc.
Lynchburg College Programs:
College faculty will prepare pre-departure information for students participating in their programs. Students will be required to attend pre-departure sessions prior to going overseas.
Non-Lynchburg College Programs:
The off-campus studies coordinator will plan pre-departure sessions for students participating in semester/year-long and summer programs sponsored by other colleges/universities and study abroad providers.
A series of meetings will generally take place towards the end of each
semester.
