Men’s Lacrosse Led All of Division III in Scoring Margin
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men’s lacrosse was recently announced as the NCAA Division III statistical champion for scoring margin. The squad posted a scoring margin of 10.58 to lead the nation while Salisbury was second with 10.00 and Cabrini was third at 9.90.
Lynchburg posted the third-best scoring offense in all of Division III, netting 16.53 goals a game for third place with Salisbury coming in first at 17.18 and Cortland second with 16.55. Lynchburg also finished fourth in the country in scoring defense - allowing just 5.95 goals a game. Denison paced the country at 5.35 while Endicott posted 5.48 and Goucher came in at 5.75. The Hornets man-down defense was another critical piece to the award as they finished tied for fourth in the nation in that category, holding opponents scoreless on 86.8% of their man-up attempts. Massachusetts Maritime led the nation with a 94.1% man-down defense.
