Travis Wray Earns All-American Honors in the 1,500
Brandon Edwards and Ricky Flynn Fall Just Shy
OSHKOSH, WI – Lynchburg College senior Travis Wray (Newburg, MD/La Plata) capped his career off in a big way Saturday by earning All-American honors at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.
Wray finished eighth in the finals of the 1,500 meters in 3:52.37. Andy Hodge from Wartburg College set a J.J. Keller Field record by winning the event in 3:46.89.
Two other Hornets fell just short of attaining All-American stature (top eight in each event). Junior Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) placed ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 46’10”, and Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) took 10th in 5,000 meters with a time of 14:57.41.
