Scott Decker Earns All-American Honors

Travis Wray Qualifies for Finals at NCAA D3 Track Championships

             OSHKOSH, WI – Lynchburg College senior Scott Decker (Clifton, VA/Robinson) earned All-American honors Thursday on the first day of competition at the 2008 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.

             Decker took third overall out of 16 participants in the pole vault. He cleared 16’3.25”, his best mark of the season. Jonny Henkins from Monmouth College (IL) won the event by clearing 16’7.25”

             Senior Travis Wray (Newburg, MD/La Plata) was one of 12 runners to qualify for the 1,500 meter finals Wray finished the event in 3:55.43 to earn a shot Saturday at 1:30 p.m. to take home All-American honors.

             Neither the Hornet 4x100 nor 4x400 relay team qualified for the finals. The 4x100 team finished in 41.98 while the 400-relay recorded a time of 3:15.92
