Hornet Track adds Two More NCAA Provisional Qualifiers

             CHAPEL HILL, NC –The Lynchburg College men’s outdoor track and field team added two more names over the last 24 hours to the growing list of Hornets that may reach the NCAA Division III Championships.

             Junior Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) provisionally qualified for NCAA competition in the 400-meter hurdles Friday afternoon at the University of North Carolina, finishing in 54.36. Three Hornets competed in the 400-meter dash at Carolina, with Chris Word (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass), Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) and Will Tolbert (Missouri City, TX/Hightower) finished the event in 48.12, 49.59 and 50.78, respectively.

             Sophomore Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) also provisionally qualified for nationals, competing Thursday evening at North Central College in Chicago. He ran the 5,000 meters in 14:31.50.
